Inspired by one of my favourite paintings by Pieter Claesz. A still life painting piece reminding us that life is fleeting.
The biggest Still Life piece I have made to date. Made from solid fine and sterling silver and jewellers brass. Leaf carved Tourmaline gemstones in shades of Ruby pink and lime green with solid cast and hand made flowers and large draping leaves, and they sit in a scrolled 2D vase atop a tabletop. A bowl full of fruit sits on an old scroll carved table, with a fallen bunch of grapes. I have embossed the reverse with a small cobwebs pattern. In keeping with the theme, the background is full of shadows and darkened.
The pendant face measures 65mm diameter. It hangs on attached sterling double chains measuring 18". Definitely a labour of love for me to make, a statement and a collector piece.
Hallmarked with my logo and purity stamps.
All of my jewellery are One of a Kind statement pieces. All are handcrafted entirely by hand, in my studio in the Queensland Tropics.
